first post

I'm not entirely sure what kind of stuff you're supposed to put on a blog. I've always had the impressions that blogs were created and maintained by either crazy cat ladies or ivory tower intellectuals, depending on what corner of the internet you frequent most. But I've been told that maintaining a blog is one of my responsibilities in this new position, so I guess I should be making one even though I'm pretty sure I fall into neither one of those categories.

So I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Henry Cao and I am a first-year student at the University of Illinois, studying computer science. In eighth grade I decided that the previous screenname I used across the internet, "h3nry7h3h3n", was too obnoxious and unprofessional. I therefore pulled up an anagram generator and typed in "Henry Cao", which brought up very few interesting results. I then typed "I am Henry Cao" into the same anagram generator, which is why I am known as ChairYeoman across most of the internet. (Though there are a few impersonators out there.)

Games I play include chess, StarCraft, League of Legends, and Tetris; I am known as "ChairYeoman" in the latter three. Mostly, I enjoy games with a  lot of strategy and depth, but also with a degree of reaction speed.

The reason why I have created this blog is because I was recently elected External Vice President of the Social Gaming Club, and one of the duties of this position is to have a blog where people can keep track of club activities and we can post pictures. I am also the webmaster of the club website, which you can find at bit.ly/uiuc-sgc. You should expect first posts from some of my fellow officers as well, as long as I can convince them to write them. :)

So I'll say bye for now and continue working on the website and the blog layout.
